A highlight of Rider’s Family Weekend is the Founder’s Day Awards Ceremony, a tradition that honors Rider’s top students as Andrew J. Rider Scholars.
The 2013 Founder’s Day Awards Ceremony, a tradition that honors Rider’s top students as Andrew J. Rider Scholars, is set to be a highlight of Family weekend yet again. The award, named for the founder and first president of the institution, honors the top one percent of seniors, juniors and sophomores in each of Rider’s six academic colleges and schools – the College of Business Administration, the School of Education, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Continuing Studies, Westminster Choir College, and the School of Fine and Performing Arts – based on their grade point averages.
President Mordechai Rozanski will award certificates to 59 students during the ceremony, which will be held on Saturday, November 2, at 11 a.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater. This year’s Faculty speaker will be Dr. Arlene Wilner, Professor, Department of English. Jessica L. Libring, a senior Advertising major in the College of Business Administration will give the student address and Dr. Herbert Gishlick, Professor, Department of Finance and Economics wil serve as Grand Marshall.
