Program overview

The student assistance coordinator (SAC) certificate is intended for students interested in the school counseling profession. The SAC plays a specialized counseling role in schools to support students with social, emotional and behavioral issues.

This certificate program is currently only accepting applications from current Rider counseling students and counseling alumni.

Program requirements

This certificate program is currently only accepting applications from current Rider counseling students and counseling alumni. The Rider University Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) Certificate is an approved program by the New Jersey Department of Education, which leads to a NJ-specific certificate, the Student Assistance Coordinator Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (SAC CEAS), issued by the NJDOE. This certificate is comprised of 21 credits, meets 9 content area requirements, and is completed by taking seven courses. Currently enrolled students should consult with program faculty for more information about course selection and this certificate option.
