The Next Generation Science Standards Gap Analysis Project, funded by a generous grant from Bristol Myers Squibb, is a year-long program that leads K-12 administrators and teachers through a guided planning process to prepare their districts for the anticipated adoption of the Next Generation Science Standards in New Jersey.
Rider University’s Science Education and Literacy Center (SELECT), in partnership with Princeton University’s Teacher Prep Program and the Science Education Institute at Raritan Valley Community College, has been working with a total of 27 New Jersey districts to conduct a gap analysis of their K-12 science programs to determine what it will take to effectively implement the NGSS. The result of this planning effort is a customized District Action Plan that details both the short- and long-term strategies required to address gaps and prepare for the anticipated adoption of NGSS. This project was developed and delivered through generous support from Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation.
