A Message from the Dean of the College of Education and Human Services
Dear Students, Faculty, and Community Members,
Welcome to the College of Education and Human Services at Rider University. As Dean, I am both honored and excited to embark on this journey with each of you.
The College of Education and Human Services’ mission and vision guides us in shaping the future of education, organizational development, and human services through our students, service and scholarship. We are committed to challenging, supporting, and preparing you for a life of impact and discovery in a diverse and evolving world. This commitment is at the heart of everything we do!
We place high value on experiential learning that connects theory to practice, allowing students to gain knowledge through hands-on classroom and clinical experiences led by our outstanding faculty. For example, our teacher education students begin field experiences during their sophomore year and attend methods courses in K12 classrooms.
Similarly, many of our graduate programs utilize clinical models which allow students to learn on the job. These experiences, combined with coursework, ensures that our graduates are day-one ready as knowledgeable, reflective professionals who are deeply committed to ethical behavior and service in classrooms, clinics and community organizations.
The excellence and high standards of our programs is further attested to by national accreditation agencies who recognize quality indicators in academics, faculty, student supports, partnerships, and post-graduation outcomes.
