Rider's student-run radio station is up against 4 competitors

107.7 The Bronc, the non-commercial radio station run exclusively by Rider students, has been nominated for a 2019 National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Award.
Located on Rider's Lawrenceville campus, 107.7 The Bronc is one of five stations competing to be named the best college radio station of the year. The winners will be announced Sept. 26 at an awards dinner in Dallas, Texas.
"In the broadcasting world, this is the biggest award that we could possibly win," says John Mozes, the station's general manager. "It is a true honor for our students to be nominated and compete at the highest level."
107.7 The Bronc is regularly recognized as one of the highest-ranking college radio stations in the state and the nation. In 2015, the Princeton Review ranked The Bronc as the 15th best college radio station in the U.S. In 2015, 2016 and 2017, The Bronc was awarded “Best College Radio Station” by the New Jersey Broadcasters Association.
107.7 The Bronc has also earned a notable place on campus for activities that go beyond the airwaves. Several annual events it organizes and hosts have become important campus traditions for Rider students, such as Scream Screen, a drive-in movie and trunk-or-treat experience, and the Eggscellent Egg Hunt, a classic egg hunt on a grand scale. The station also presents an event each year called Cruisin’ From Commencement that allows one member of the graduating class to win a new car. The station has earned numerous awards for producing promotional materials for these events.
The National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Awards were established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi. These prestigious awards recognize stations and individuals for their excellence and performance in radio and television.
